Summertime: Time to Visit All the Water Parks in Israel!

Summer arrives in Israel and the weather is hot, hot, hot! Visitors and Israelis feeling the heat can take advantage of 10 water parks with even more in the planning stage. Ashdod, to compliment its’ beautiful beaches, plans to build a water park in the new Park Ashdod Yam on Givat HaTilim.

Water parks in Israel are like amusement parks in the water. Expect to experience all kinds of fun slides, splash pads, wave pools and other unique rides with crazy names; a fantastic and fun way to cool off from the heat! But, don’t worry about the littlest members of your group. Family friendly Israel has pools and attractions for all the various age groups.

So if you’ve got kids in tow then head to the nearest water park! Each one is unique in its own way. Some also offer amusement parks called Luna Parks, camp grounds, fishing ponds, private beaches, museums and luxury spas. One water park, Hafetz Haim Water Parkis for the religious public with separate times for men and women. However, many of the other water parks also reserve 1-9 days a year for the religious public. Some water parks are in the urban center of Israel and some are in beautiful rural areas. Wherever you plan to travel in Israel you’re sure to be in the vicinity of at least one water park. Here is a run-down on Israel’s water parks and their locations.

Tel Aviv and Gush Dan

1. Meymadion is conveniently located in Tel Aviv in Ganei Yehoshua – Hayarkon Park near the Luna Amusement Park. Besides the fantastic slides, tubing float and Olympic size pool there is also a special “Kid’s World” and sports complex for volleyball, basketball and soccer. 2. Yamit 2000 is in Holon just south east of Tel Aviv. Here not only is there a spectacular super-fun water park with slides and Olympic size pool, but there is also a luxury spa with Jacuzzis, saunas and a Turkish bath. For further information phone: 972-3-550-0000 or fax: 972-3-556-6528.

The Sharon

3.Sachek Ota, also known as the Luna Park of Emek Hefer, is near Kfar Saba. Here is both a Luna Amusement Park and a roof-top water park – double fun for children. You will never get them to go home! 4. Shefayim Water Park at Kibbutz Shefayim is located only five minutes away from Herzylia. Besides claiming to be the largest water park in Israel, there is also a motor park, and an adventure park and paintball center. The Coastal Plain

5.Hafetz Haim Water Park, not far from Ashdod, is especially for the religious public and offers separate bathing times for men and women. They also have a Luna Amusement Park and a lovely petting zoo called Chava’s Farm. For further information phone: (08) 859-3876.

The Kinneret (Sea of Galilee)

6. Luna Gal is located on Golan Beach on the northeastern side of Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee). Here are fast moving slides, an Olympic size pool and a children’s pool. 7. Gai Beach Water Park is located in south Tiberias right on the shores of the beautiful Kinneret. This is ideal for families who want to “have it all” in one place as the admission price also includes access to the private beach. The Galilee

9. Ganei Huga is a water park situated in the Bet Shean area. Here are also campgrounds and an added attraction is a fishing pond where you can fish for your supper. For further information phone: 972-4-658-1111.

The South

10. Ashkeluna Water Park is right on the Delila Beach in Ashkelon, Israel’s most southern town on the Mediterranean coast. The plus here is its close proximity to the seashore and there is also the possibility to take a dip in the Mediterranean Sea. Water Parks in Israel: Did You Know?

Beer Sheva in the middle of the Negev Desert in southern Israel is building an artificial lake from re-cycled water that will have boats and sailing and there are plans to also build a water park there!
